What Data Is Processed

This tool processes the following information you provide through the calculator form:

• Date of customs entry
• Declared value (USD amount)
• Country of origin
• HTS (Harmonized Tariff Schedule) code

No personally identifiable information (PII) is required to use the calculator. We do not collect names, addresses, email addresses, or phone numbers through the estimation tool.

Where Data Is Processed

All duty impact calculations are performed entirely in your browser using client-side JavaScript. Your financial data (declared values, entry dates, and calculation results) is not transmitted to our servers. The tariff rate data used for calculations is loaded as static files and does not change based on your inputs.

The HTS code search feature sends your search query to an API route hosted on the same server to look up matching codes from a static reference index. Only the search text is transmitted; no financial or entry data is included in these requests, and no search queries are stored.

Data Retention

Session data (your calculator inputs and results) is stored in your browser's localStorage to maintain your session across page navigation. This data:

• Remains on your device only
• Is not transmitted to any server for storage
• Can be cleared at any time by clearing your browser data or using your browser's developer tools
• Is automatically cleared when you clear your browser's localStorage

Third-Party Services

This application uses the following third-party services:

• Vercel — Hosting and content delivery. Standard web server logs (IP address, user agent, requested URL) may be collected by the hosting platform. See Vercel's Privacy Policy.

• Google Analytics — Anonymous page view and traffic measurement. Enabled only with your consent via the cookie banner. No financial data, calculator inputs, or personally identifiable information is sent to Google. See Google's Privacy Policy.

All duty calculations are performed locally in your browser. No financial or entry data is transmitted to any third-party service.

Analytics & Tracking

This application uses Google Analytics (GA4) to measure page views and site traffic. Analytics scripts are only loaded after you accept the cookie consent banner. If you decline, no analytics scripts are loaded and no tracking occurs.

No advertising pixels or remarketing cookies are used. Browser storage (localStorage) is used for maintaining your session, recording your disclaimer acceptance, and storing your analytics consent preference.
